Job summary

Dex partners with a medical-technology company delivering a Surgical Intelligence Platform used in hospitals. You will act as the system architect across AI, Perception, Platform Software, Hardware and QA, setting integration standards and API contracts across complex, safety-critical pillars.

The role requires hands-on experience with medical-grade hardware, edge GPUs, and leading an engineering team to deliver real-time, latency-sensitive systems while navigating regulatory pathways.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience integrating software with real surgical or medical-grade hardware.
• Experience working with edge devices (NVIDIA Jetson/AGX) for real-time pipelines.
• Leadership experience scaling an engineering team to 10+ people.
• Proven ability to set integration standards across AI, XR, hardware and software.

Responsibilities

• Drive an immediate OEM integration by shipping an SDK that plugs into a major scope manufacturer's stack.
• Balance immediate commercial priorities with longer-term work on foundation models and sub-mm navigation.
• Scale the engineering team from ~6 to 10–12 by year-end.
• Architect across AI, XR, hardware and software, defining integration standards and API contracts between pillars.
• Navigate FDA Class I/II, HIPAA, ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 to keep product development moving.
