Job summary

LGPS Central is seeking a Chief Risk and Compliance Officer to lead risk, compliance and assurance across our growing, FCA-regulated investment management organisation. This executive role reports to the CEO and collaborates with the Board and senior leaders.

You will oversee enterprise and investment risk, financial crime controls, SMCR governance and regulatory engagement, while building a strong risk and conduct culture and maintaining effective oversight frameworks.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in risk, compliance or regulation within UK investment management or financial services.
• Experience holding FCA SMF4, SMF16 and SMF17 or capability to obtain.
• Strong understanding of FCA regulation, SMCR and Conduct Rules.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise risk, compliance, financial crime, assurance and regulatory reporting across LGPS Central.
• Maintain risk appetite framework, governance policies and independent Board reporting.
• Provide independent challenge on strategy, proposals and organisational change.
• Oversee investment risk, assurance, operations resilience and business continuity.
• Develop culture of integrity, accountability and timely escalation.
