Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council in Wolverhampton is seeking a dynamic Head of Clean & Green to lead the transformation and delivery of services that shape the environment of the city.

You will provide strategic leadership across Street Scene, Grounds Maintenance, Arboricultural Services, Pest Control and related areas, manage large multidisciplinary teams and significant budgets, and drive innovation and digital transformation to deliver modern, customer-focused services.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in environmental, regulatory, public realm or related services.
• Proven track record of delivering transformational change and service improvement.
• Experience managing complex budgets, contracts and resources.
• Extensive knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance and enforcement.
• The ability to build productive relationships with elected members, residents, partners and contractors.
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across a diverse portfolio: Street Scene, Grounds Maintenance, Arboricultural Services, Pest Control, Graffiti Services.
• Lead large multidisciplinary teams, drive performance and manage significant budgets and contracts.
• Champion innovation and digital transformation to deliver modern, responsive and customer-focused services.
• Collaborate with elected members, communities, partners and stakeholders to promote civic pride and sustainability.
• Guide the organisation in shaping the future direction of environmental and public realm services.
