Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a seasoned Greenspace Development and Inward Investment Lead to steer green infrastructure projects across the city. You will guide a multidisciplinary landscape development team, secure external investment, and shape sustainability-driven development aligned with Birmingham's growth agenda.

Qualifications

• Chartered Membership of the Landscape Institute.
• Significant experience in landscape architecture or related disciplines.
• Experience delivering green infrastructure or urban development projects.
• Experience managing substantial budgets and external funding.
• Proven ability negotiating Section 106 agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage delivery of green infrastructure and landscape development projects across Birmingham.
• Oversee the Landscape Development team, ensuring performance and development.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of innovative projects for green spaces.
• Secure funding through grants, Section 106 and other opportunities.
• Collaborate with developers, planning colleagues, communities and partners.
• Represent Parks & Green Spaces in major regeneration programmes.
• Monitor budgets and forecast financials.
• Prepare reports and briefing papers for senior officers and elected members.
• Manage framework agreements and ensure timely, on-budget delivery with high environmental standards.
