Job description

An exciting opportunity to join the Outpatients team has arisen. You will have supervisory and clinical roles under the supervision of senior staff.

Outpatients is rapidly expanding and providing more invasive procedures in clinic to our patients.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Nursing Associate who wants to progress clinically and expand their current role.

We offer full training and the opportunity to undertake Band 5 training.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to organise and prioritise effectively, demonstrate sound clinical skills, and possess excellent communication skills to meet the following duties:

  • Lead, supervise, support, and work with the existing team.
  • Oversee the smooth running of all Outpatient clinics.
  • Understand patients' needs and ensure their problems, complaints, and any issues raised in clinic are dealt with in a timely, professional, and compassionate manner.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

To provide skilled nursing care under the supervision of a senior nurse, undertaking routine and specific tasks, including but not limited to patient observations, ECGs, venepuncture, urinalysis, ENT suction, Tristell cleaning, chaperoning, biopsies, and requesting investigations via ICE.

Prepare and replenish the clinical environment for procedures.

Organise junior staff, undertake safety huddles, and organize breaks.

Interview
  • Registered Nursing Associate
  • Experience within a healthcare setting
  • GCSE Grade A-C in English and Maths or Level 2 in Maths and English
  • Evidence of continued professional practice
  • Willing to undertake further training as required
Knowledge
  • Ability to prioritise workload in stressful environments
  • Completion of an HCA development programme
  • Understanding of basic physiology, e.g., vital signs, fluid balance, nutritional requirements
Experience
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with the public demonstrating good customer care skills
  • Experience in health coaching and promoting independent living
  • Previous experience in an acute healthcare setting

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
