Job Description:

Overview: As a Lead Event Technician, you will oversee or directly deliver a variety of events, ensuring the installation and operation of lighting and sound systems are completed on time and within budget. You will collaborate with a growing team, managing planning, preparation, staffing, and execution of events, working closely with supervisors and project managers to ensure client satisfaction.

Personal Attributes:

  • Passion or experience with lighting/audio equipment and technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Proficient in mathematics (A level standard)
  • Ability to interpret technical plans and work to them
  • Effective communication skills
  • Excellent time management and adaptability

Desirable Knowledge:

  • Temporary power systems
  • Capture and/or AutoCAD software
  • Experience with project management and collaboration with designers
  • Working safely at height (training provided)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and create technical plans
  • Rig, set up, focus, and de-rig lighting/audio equipment
  • Operate lighting/audio consoles, including Avolites Titan
  • Supervise technicians, freelancers, and local crew
  • Advise on system choices for events
  • Prepare and assist with pre-event tasks
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies
  • Represent the company positively
  • Perform additional duties as required

Working Environment:

  • Training and development opportunities
  • Potential for non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, or overnight shifts
  • Travel across the UK and Europe, with possible overnight stays
