Job summary

Consult in London seeks a Chief of Staff (or VP Strategy & Corporate Development) to work closely with the CEO and SLT. You’ll own the board and investor narrative, help shape the long-term plan, and drive cross-functional initiatives in a fast-growing, VC-backed deep-tech scale-up.

The role combines strategic finance, dealmaking, partnerships, and leading an AI programme to increase output per head. It requires 7+ years across consulting, banking, corp dev, or VC-backed operating roles, plus

Chief of Staff (or VP Strategy & Corp Dev) | VC-backed deep-tech scale-up | London / hybrid | –£120k + equity

I'm working with an exciting founder-led businesses and they're looking for someone to work closely with SLT and be the CEO's right hand as they scale.

Quick context: VC-backed, 30 people, patented technology and a properly commercial B2B model, selling into some of the best-known premium brands in the world. Well funded and gearing up for the next stage.

What you'll be doing:

• Owning the board and investor agenda: board papers, shareholder updates, and making sure the plan, the model and the investor story all say the same thing


• Hands-on with fundraising alongside the CEO and finance


• Strategy, financial modelling and scenario planning, and turning it into the annual plan


• Corporate structure, partnerships and deals, including some international work


• Leading the company's AI programme. The goal is to double output per head, not headcount

What they're looking for:

• 7+ years across consulting, banking, corp dev, strategy or VC-backed operating roles


• Non-negotiable: you've already made the jump into a startup or scale-up and seen what's on the other side


• Hands-on experience of an equity raise, ideally Series A or beyond


• Strong modelling and board-level writing


• AI native, or well on the way


• Bonus points for manufacturing, deep-tech, premium/luxury or B2B, and cross-border experience (China a plus)

The title flexes with experience. Earlier in your career it's Chief of Staff; more senior, it's VP Strategy & Corporate Development. Same priorities either way.

You don't need to know the sector. It's your consulting brain, commercial nous, and a willingness to work across legal, finance and everything in between.
