Job summary

North East London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Director of Performance and Business Intelligence to lead the performance, analytics and intelligence function. The post holder will work closely with the Board and senior teams to translate data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making, clinical improvement and resource stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Trust’s performance, analytics and business intelligence function, supporting organisational priorities, improvement and assurance.
• Lead and manage the Performance and Business Intelligence team of approximately 30 WTE and an operating budget of approximately £1.9 million.
• Provide expert intelligence and advice to the Trust Board, Board committees, Executive Team and senior clinical and operational leaders.
• Translate complex performance, quality, finance, workforce, activity, productivity and equity data into clear, actionable intelligence.
• Develop dashboards, forecasting, benchmarking, demand and capacity modelling, population health intelligence and AI-enabled analytical solutions.
• Establish a business partnering model that provides trusted analytical support to Clinical Groups, Place directorates and major service portfolios.
• Ensure statutory, mandatory, contractual, commissioner and regulatory reporting is accurate, timely and aligned with internal planning and assurance.
• Identify emerging risks, unwarranted variation and improvement opportunities across access, quality, productivity, outcomes and resource use.
• Strengthen data quality, reporting standards, information governance and data literacy across the Trust.
• Represent the Trust in relevant system, regional and national forums, while developing the capability and professional standards of the Performance and Business Intelligence team.
