We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Medical Officer for the UK & Ireland to oversee all medical assistance activities for the UK scope, including all hub-related cases.

AXA Partners' medical team provides 24/7 medical assistance worldwide, prioritizing excellent service. This role involves developing and managing medical standards, protocols, and processes to ensure top patient care, coordinating medical staff, and supporting medical assistance initiatives. The Chief Medical Officer will also handle escalation cases, manage medical staff credentials, support internal controls, and promote team development.

This position is based in our Redhill office with a hybrid working model. The workweek is 35 hours, Monday to Friday, 9 am - 5 pm.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Medical Leadership and Strategy:
    • Develop and execute medical strategies aligned with company goals.
    • Provide medical guidance to senior management.
    • Stay updated on global medical trends and incorporate relevant practices.
  2. Standards and Quality Assurance:
    • Establish high standards of medical care and review cases.
    • Ensure compliance with medical standards and regulations.
    • Implement continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  3. Medical Staff Management:
    • Support recruitment, credentialing, and development of medical staff.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and foster professional growth.
  4. International Medical Assistance:
    • Oversee international medical assistance services.
    • Maintain relationships with global medical partners.
    • Ensure high-quality medical services worldwide.
  5. Operational Oversight:
    • Supervise daily medical operations.
    • Support complex case management.
    • Ensure compliance and resolve operational issues.
  6. Emergency Response and Crisis Management:
    • Lead medical responses during emergencies.
    • Develop emergency protocols.
    • Coordinate during crises.
  7. Client and Commercial Support:
    • Provide medical expertise for campaigns and client meetings.
    • Ensure client satisfaction.
  8. Training and Development:
    • Oversee training programs for medical staff.
    • Promote teamwork and professional growth.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Valid UK medical license.
  • Specializations in Critical Care, Anaesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine with critical care experience.
  • Knowledge of medical standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proven leadership in medical staff management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in emergency response and crisis management.
  • Familiarity with international medical assistance and healthcare systems.
  • Multilingual abilities are advantageous.
