As the Head of Medical, you will lead the Medical organization for Vaccines in the UK&IE MCO. The scope may also include Switzerland for business reasons.

The Head of Medical MCOs reports to the Medical Key Markets Head and is a member of the KM Medical Leadership Team.

As the UKIE Medical Head, you will be a strategic business partner providing valuable medical expertise in a compliant and ethical manner. You will contribute to Sanofi Pasteur's strategic objectives by managing the medical organization in the UK and Ireland in accordance with internal procedures and regulations.

Main responsibilities:

  1. Define and drive the overall medical strategy in the MCO, aligned with business goals.
  2. Foster employee engagement and develop team talents and capabilities.
  3. Manage medical plans, resource allocation, and performance in the MCO.
  4. Support growth acceleration following global franchise guidance.
  5. Innovate solutions and operating models to meet patient needs.
  6. Promote learning, share best practices, and encourage innovation within teams.
  7. Build efficiencies by challenging low-impact activities.
  8. Provide strategic leadership to the medical teams.
  9. Model and champion compliance, corporate values, and Play-to-Win behaviors.
  10. As a Country Medical Lead (CML): Serve as the medical interface externally and internally for non-GBU topics, represent Sanofi in medical committees, chair the country/MCO MRPQ council, ensure consistency in medical understanding of policies, and support audit readiness and talent review.

You should have:

  • A scientific background: Medical Degree, PhD, PharmD (MD preferred). Board certification is advantageous.
  • Significant leadership experience in medical affairs or related fields.
  • Experience with product launches and access ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to lead diverse, multicultural, and remote teams.
  • Experience managing senior stakeholders.
  • An innovative, digital approach with a customer focus.
  • Capacity to challenge the status quo, with entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Decision-making skills in complex environments, fostering entrepreneurship, accountability, and empowerment.
