Job summary

St Mary's University, Twickenham invites applications for Head of MBBS Assessment to lead Phase 1 and 2 assessments (years 1-5) of the MBBS programme. The role partners with the Executive Dean of Medicine and contingent partner (UCLAN) to plan, manage and deliver a robust assessment strategy in line with GMC regulations.

• Proven leadership in medical education settings.
• Experience designing and delivering MBBS/undergraduate medical assessments.
• Knowledge of GMC requirements and national assessment standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead on all elements of the assessment strategy across the MBBS programme (years 1-5).
• Oversee item development, paper and assessment creation, and examination processes.
• Ensure quality assurance and alignment with GMC MLA requirements and Equality Act considerations.
• Coordinate exam boards, moderation, and external review activities.
• Lead on standard setting methods and performance-based assessment design.
• Collaborate with NHS, clinical partners and stakeholders to align assessments with diverse needs.
