Job summary

Wellcome Sanger Institute is seeking a Head of Enterprise IT Architecture to lead architecture strategy, governance and standards across a complex technology landscape. The role chairs the Technical Design Authority and aligns designs with institutional objectives, security and scalability.

You will collaborate with senior scientific and operational leaders to build roadmaps, reduce technical debt and enable innovative, interoperable systems while maintaining alignment with UKRI and EMBL-EBI

Qualifications

TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture framework knowledge.
Deep expertise in cloud, data, integration and application architecture.
Ability to develop principles, standards and technology roadmaps.
Experience with IT risk and technical debt management.
Proven leadership in IT solution architecture and design governance.

Responsibilities

Lead architecture strategy and governance across enterprise, domain and solution levels.
Chair Design Authority and align designs with standards and strategic goals.
Reduce technical debt and simplify the technology estate.
Collaborate with senior leaders to translate strategy into roadmaps.
Represent the Institute in external architecture forums.
