About the job

Based in London within the Engineering Department, the Chief Engineer is responsible for the smooth operation of the Engineering team.

About the role

As Chief Engineer, you will be fully responsible for all engineering functions, directing, coordinating, and exercising authority over maintenance of the hotel and residences. You should be proactive, creative, results-driven, and capable of managing all aspects of the engineering department.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1. Plan and formulate the engineering program, organizing staff according to project and maintenance needs.
2. Review preventive maintenance tasks and annual work schedules, ensuring they are updated regularly considering regulations and corporate standards.
3. Lead in establishing objectives for the Engineering Department and coordinate operational activities to achieve these goals.
4. Coordinate with A.C.E. to establish duty rosters and vacation plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations and workload demands.
5. Perform monthly inspections of the property, follow up on issues with contractors and technicians, and ensure overall quality standards.
6. Participate in the Emergency Response Team, managing operational and technical aspects of emergency procedures.
7. Work with the General Manager on sustainability initiatives and projects.
8. Assist in establishing utility budgets and target consumption, implementing energy conservation programs.
9. Ensure maintenance functions are performed with high quality and productivity.
10. Liaise with Mayfair Residents to meet their engineering needs as part of maintenance contracts.

Ideal candidates will have substantial experience in luxury hotels or properties, excellent communication skills, and a passion for quality and excellence.
