Job summary

Mphasis UK Ltd in Liverpool seeks a senior compliance leader to provide independent oversight of regulatory compliance and financial crime frameworks. The role includes acting as SMF16 and SMF17 (MLRO) upon FCA approval, and delivering a risk-based monitoring programme across regulated activities.

You will advise senior management and the Board on regulatory developments, maintain Consumer Duty oversight, and promote a culture of ethical conduct across the business.

Qualifications

• Significant FCA-regulated financial services experience, preferably consumer credit or debt-related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of FCA Handbook: CONC, SYSC, DISP, Consumer Duty and SM&CR.
• Experience building or monitoring compliance frameworks and controls.
• Experience with AML, sanctions, customer due diligence and financial crime requirements.
• Ability to present MI to senior management and board, with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent oversight of regulatory compliance and financial crime frameworks.
• Act as SMF16 (Compliance Oversight) and SMF17 (MLRO) subject to FCA approval.
• Develop and maintain a risk-based Compliance Monitoring Programme.
• Oversee AML/CTF, sanctions, and customer due diligence processes.
• Advise senior management and the Board on regulatory developments and actions.
• Embed Consumer Duty and ensure customer outcomes are at the center of operations.
