Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a Clinical Director General Dental Services to lead general dental services, support GDS contracts and oversee the training and management of DFTs within the Dental Training Unit.

You will provide clinical leadership across GDS, develop dental collaboratives, and work with DPAs, GDC, HIW, and HEIW to improve care pathways close to home. This post sits within ARCH collaboration and has strategic board-level influence.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level and registered with the GDC.
• Evidence of further development – education/training.
• Masters or higher qualification in relevant field.
• Health service management/leadership qualification.
• Postgraduate qualification from a Medical Royal College is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction for general dental services and GDS contracts.
• Lead and manage DPAs, oversee training of DFTs in the DTU.
• Lead dental collaboratives and represent dentistry in cluster frameworks.
• Remodel care pathways to improve patient outcomes and resources usage.
• Promote governance, performance, and external stakeholder collaboration.
