Job summary

The post holder will work as part of the Diagnostic Cardiology team to provide high quality cardiac diagnostics, with patient care at the forefront. This post is based at the new Community Diagnostic Centre in Newmarket, with occasional days at West Suffolk Hospital on a rotational basis; services include outpatient Echocardiography, Ambulatory ECG monitoring and 12 lead ECG.

The role includes line-management of junior staff, involvement in service development, education, audit and quality

Qualifications

  • Significant experience as a BSE Accredited Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist.
  • Essential: BSc Clinical Physiology and BSE Accreditation or equivalent.
  • Leadership or management experience desirable.

Job description

The post holder will work as part of the Diagnostic Cardiology team to provide high quality cardiac diagnostics, with patient care at the forefront.

As a band 7 Chief Cardiac Physiologist you will expected to perform complex diagnostics independently, as well as actively contributing to service development.

The role is primarily based at the new Community Diagnostic Centre in Newmarket, providing diagnostic services to the local community 7 days a week. Occasional working days at the West Suffolk Hospital will be required on a rotational basis. The Newmarket CDC provides outpatient Echocardiography, Ambulatory ECG monitoring and 12 lead ECG services.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to an area of service delivery, as well as line-manage and train junior staff. The post holder will be expected to take an active role in service development, contributing to education, audit and quality assurance within the department.

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must have significant experience as a BSE Accredited Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist

It is essential that the applicant holds BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent, and in addition holds BSE Accreditation or equivalent. This post will involve a degree of managerial responsibilities; therefore, experience in leadership or management roles would be desirable.
