Qualifications

  • Experience as a Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist in cardiology
  • Expertise in Cardiac Rhythm Management or Complex Echocardiography
  • Ability to perform and report routine cardiac investigations to a high professional standard

Responsibilities

  • Apply specialist clinical knowledge to perform, interpret and report on diagnostic investigations to an advanced standard
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and seek senior advice when appropriate
  • Lead within the specialist service area to maintain high clinical standards and service quality
  • Oversee day-to-day delivery of services ensuring safe and timely patient care
  • Monitor governance, H&S and departmental policies to support continuous improvement and patient safety
  • Provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to staff and learners
  • Contribute to workforce management activities including appraisals, recruitment and team development

Job description

Are you an ambitious and experienced Cardiac Physiologist looking to advance your career within a nationally recognised cardiology service? We are seeking enthusiastic Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologists to join our dedicated and supportive team based at the renowned Essex Cardiothoracic Centre (CTC).

Working across both tertiary and secondary care services, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional diagnostic and cardiac investigations to patients across the Basildon site. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate specialist expertise in an advanced area of practice, such as Cardiac Rhythm Management or Complex Echocardiography, alongside a strong foundation in performing and reporting routine cardiac investigations.

We have a strong track record of supporting staff to achieve BSE accreditation and success in HRUK and IBHRE examinations.

Apply highly specialist clinical knowledge and expertise to perform, interpret and report on a wide range of diagnostic investigations and procedures to an advanced professional standard.

Work autonomously within professional guidelines, exercising clinical judgement and seeking advice from senior colleagues when appropriate.

Lead within the specialist service area to maintain high clinical standards, service quality and operational efficiency.

Oversee the day-to-day delivery of services, ensuring the safe, effective and timely provision of patient care.

Monitor and maintain compliance with clinical governance, health and safety requirements, professional standards and departmental policies.

Identify, escalation and help resolve operational, clinical or service concerns to support continuous improvement and patient safety.

Provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to staff and learners, supporting ongoing professional development and competency assessment.

Contribute to workforce management activities, including appraisals, recruitment, performance management and the development of an effective and high-performing team.
