Job summary

Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist (Band 7) to join the Echocardiography Team. The role involves autonomous practice, complex interpretation, and high-quality reporting across the Trust, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

The post supports trainee development, routine audits, and CPD in line with BSE guidance, with a focus on safety, compassion, and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of cardiac imaging.
• Minimum 2 years post graduate experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently practice with a high level of skill and autonomy within echocardiography across the NHS trust.
• Interpret results autonomously and provide accurate clinical reports.
• Mentor and supervise trainee staff and other professionals in echocardiography.
• Participate in audits and quality improvement activities.
• Support CPD and adherence to BSE guidelines.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Cardiac Physiologist to join our Team at Northern Care Alliance. Band 7 depending on experience and BSE accreditation. The Advanced Cardiac Physiologist will be working in our Echocardiography Team across the NCA. Be a dynamic active member of the echocardiography team supporting the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate service working closely with patients, multi-disciplinary teams and consultants. Support the training of junior staff and audit activity on a daily basis. To work in line with BSE guidelines. The department offers a full spectrum of invasive and non invasive cardiac diagnostic investigations and is committed to developing staff and supporting CPD. Any enquiries are welcomed and if you wish to arrange an informal visit do not hesitate to contact usMain duties of the job Independently practice with a high level of skill and autonomy within the field of echocardiography, providing service across Northern Care Alliance Ensure optimal standards of care are provided to patients. Undertake autonomous interpretation of results and provision of accurate clinical reports. Work collaboratively on a day to day basis with colleagues to ensure that the daily workload needs are met. Provide specialist advice, training, mentoring and supervision in the field of echocardiography to trainee cardiac physiologists, nursing and medical staff and any other professionals that require supportive training as part of their extended roles Work with the service leads in further developing the clinical physiology service. Assist in monitoring and maintaining quality of service and participate in clinical audits.
