Job summary

Alpine Formula 1 Team in the UK is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead financial reporting, controls and governance across local and group requirements. You will manage month-end and year-end closes, external audits and statutory reporting, while partnering with the Finance leadership to drive improvement and ensure robust controls.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification and PQE.
• Experience in financial accounting, financial control and group reporting.
• Knowledge of UK-adopted IFRS and statutory reporting.
• Experience auditing and working with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across the business.
• Own month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring reporting deadlines are met.
• Maintain and enhance financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.
• Review and challenge balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, provisions and key accounting adjustments.
• Prepare management, Board and Group reporting packs, delivering clear financial insight and analysis.
• Lead the annual external audit process and manage relationships with auditors.
• Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cashflow planning and wider strategic initiatives.
• Drive process improvements, systems enhancements and finance transformation projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships across the organisation to support informed business decisions.

We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded and technically strong Chief Accountant to join our Finance team and play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity, accuracy and governance of our financial operations. The Role

As Chief Accountant, you will lead the financial reporting and control activities of the business, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant reporting for both local and Group requirements. You will oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, manage external audits, support statutory reporting and taxation activities, and ensure a robust financial control environment is maintained across the organisation.

As a key member of the Finance leadership team, you will partner with Group Finance, external advisors and business leaders to drive continuous improvement, strengthen financial controls and ensure compliance with Group accounting policies and reporting requirements. You will also play an important role in supporting the team\'s ongoing development, helping Finance evolve alongside the demands of a world-class Formula One operation.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We\'re looking for an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent stakeholder management skills.

You\'ll Ideally Have

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).


• Significant post-qualification experience within financial accounting, financial control, group reporting or external audit.


• Strong knowledge of UK-adopted IFRS and financial reporting standards.


• Experience preparing and reviewing statutory financial statements.


• Proven experience managing external audits and working with senior stakeholders.


• Excellent understanding of financial controls, balance sheet governance and risk management principles.


• Experience using Dynamics or similar ERP and reporting systems.
