Job summary

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust requires a Band 6 SACT trained nurse to work at the Liverpool site. You will lead the Chemotherapy Treatment Unit and engage in dual training for Oncology and Haematology SACT.

You will educate junior staff, contribute to assessments, and support continuous service improvement while travelling to peripheral sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • 1st level NMC registration is required.
  • Degree in healthcare-related subject.
  • UKONS SACT Passport or NM6 995 certification.
  • Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care ILS.
  • MSc in Clinical Diagnostics or related field is a plus.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development (CPD).
  • Recognised teaching qualification relating to clinical assessment.
  • Leadership/management experience in healthcare settings.

Job description

As we deliver treatments in sector hubs and clinicsacross the Wirral and Liverpool, there will an element of cross cover required during training and once training has been completed. This will include travelling to all of our peripheral sites:

The successful applicant will support the team in a leadership role. You are required to be fully SACT trained with relevant SACT experience. You will support and educate junior staff and participate with educating and assessing.

We are looking for enthusiastic Band 6 SACT trained nurses to work at our CCC - Liverpool site in the Chemotherapy Treatment Unit. You will embark on a programme of dual training for both Oncology and Haematology systemic anticancer treatments. You must be highly motivated and willing to undergo training in the Haematology and chemotherapy fields.

  • 1st level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Degree in healthcare related subject

  • Advanced Communications skills training, Previous cancer nursing experience
  • Knowledge of various drugs and their interactions and side effects
  • Knowledge of NMC code of conduct, Competent in the delivery of all SACT
  • Competent in Cannulation/Phlebotomy/CVAD
  • Previous experience in Solid Tumour and or Haemato-oncology, Leadership and management experience
  • Experience of audit and research, Leadership and management experience
