About The R&D Team

Located within the technical division, The R&D Team formulates products from concept to factory, ensuring all testing for PIF is completed.

Chemist

Reporting to Senior Chemist/Technical Manager/Head of R&D, the Chemist should have a degree or equivalent qualification and at least three years' relevant experience. Responsibilities include managing product development from concept to completion, delegating to Laboratory Technicians and Junior Chemists, and ensuring compliance with GMP and CoSHH policies.

Key duties include:

• Following SOPs and WINs
• Maintaining hygiene standards in the lab
• Collaborating with teams on product briefs and liaising with customers
• Organising testing and communicating results
• Staying updated on raw materials and market trends
• Ensuring products meet safety and legal guidelines
• Supporting and presenting in customer meetings
• Overseeing pilot batches, factory trials, and tech transfer projects
• Training team members and understanding COPTIS
• Promoting safety and a positive working environment
• Performing any other duties as required

Role Requirements

Candidates should be competent in maths and cosmetic science, detail-oriented, team players, well-organized, industry-aware, capable managers, willing to train others, confident presenters, commercially aware, and able to delegate.
