Job summary

Quaker Houghton is seeking a Fluid Analysis Chemist for our Manchester laboratory. The role is fully onsite with a 6-month fixed-term contract and the possibility of extension to 9 months, depending on business needs.

You will perform laboratory testing, prepare and analyse customer samples, manage data, and support technical problem-solving in a well-equipped facility. The ideal candidate will hold a BSc in Chemistry with 1–3 years of lab experience, knowledge of GLP/COSHH, and proficiency in

Job description

analytical tests and determinations, in order to answer questions and address problems of customers. Accurately record, analyse and report laboratory observations and test results. Maintain equipment glassware and workspace in order to keep them clean and well-functioning. Properly dispose of all laboratory waste. Participate in ensuring good management of laboratory equipment and storage spaces for chemicals and raw materials. Comply with housekeeping rules. Provide analytical service and knowledge to internal and external customers based upon the chemists' current level of expertise. Occasionally visit customers when required to assist the Commercial team ( approx. 2 times per year). Ensure that all equipment and machines in your area of control are managed with regards to safety, maintenance, calibration, and availability. Perform project work in cooperation with a variety of internal and external contacts.

• Minimum BSc in Chemistry
• Good knowledge of wet chemistry and all aspects of Laboratory health & safety
• Previous laboratory experience, (1-3 years) and working knowledge of GLP and COSHH

About the role

As a Fluid Analysis Chemist, you will perform laboratory testing, prepare and analyse customer samples, manage laboratory data, and contribute to technical problem-solving in a well-equipped analytical laboratory environment.
