Job description

The members club in the heart of London has a strong customer base who frequent the club often, so a small but interesting menu using quality and seasonal produce prepared well is expected by them.

The club runs a busy kitchen with a small team producing a menu of seasonal, modern British style food, with some Mediterranean influences. We work with an excellent list of suppliers enabling us to use quality ingredients, allowing us to write a constantly changing seasonal menu depending on availability.

About You

The senior sous chef must be experienced and skilled in the following areas: cooking! This is a very hands-on role.

A strong repertoire of dishes and a background in quality restaurants are preferred, along with a sound knowledge of techniques and the ability to write a balanced, evolving menu. Tolerance and maturity are essential to handle the ever-changing demands of the business, where no two days are the same.

  • Assist the head chef with stocktaking.
  • Keep the staff busy without stressing or overwhelming them.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized kitchen, strictly complying with food hygiene regulations and record-keeping.
  • Motivate and retain staff, teach and pass on new skills, and support staff in recruiting new team members when necessary.

The hours are mainly Monday to Friday, with some Saturdays required for events (so you will have regular, but not every weekend off). The kitchen is closed on Sundays.

Salary & Benefits

£37,400 for 40 hours plus paid overtime and bonus.
