Job summary

Wren Kitchens in Barton-upon-Humber is seeking an experienced Chef for a Monday–Friday shift (05:30–14:00). The role offers a £31,000 annual salary plus a quarterly bonus up to £250.

You will prepare meals, manage stock, and ensure high standards of food safety in a busy canteen environment. Ideal candidates cook with fresh produce, deliver great tasting meals, and provide excellent customer service while covering holidays when needed.

• Experience cooking with fresh produce is essential.
• Good cooking and communication skills.
• Customer service experience.
• Ability to cover other staff due to holidays, sickness, etc.

Responsibilities

• Serving and handling of food in the canteen.
• Manage inventory and ensure ingredients are fresh and available to use.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and maintain safety standards.
• Foster a positive and professional environment, working with coworkers and customers.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Keep the workstation tidy, including clearing down at end of shift and washing up.

The ideal candidate will bring creativity, expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional catering experiences to all Wren Employees. The position is Monday to Friday, 05:30 - 14:00. The salary for the position is £31,000 plus Quarterly Bonus up to £250.

Key Responsibilities

• Serving and handling of food in the canteen
• Manage inventory and ensure that all ingredients are fresh and available to use
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and maintaining the safety standards
• Foster a positive and professional environment, working seamlessly with co-workers and customers
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Keep the workstation tidy, including clearing down at the end of the shift, washing up and good observation of cleanliness
