Job summary

Gather & Gather is recruiting a Chef Manager in London to lead a high-volume kitchen, oversee production for multiple centres, and drive service excellence. You will manage 9 chefs, ensure top-quality meals, and maintain safety standards.

The role focuses on delivering exceptional food, managing inventories and budgets, and collaborating with the team to exceed customer expectations in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen during high-volume service, managing 300-500 covers and acting as central production unit.
• Prepare delicious food to high standards.
• Supervise culinary and catering teams to ensure impeccable food and service.
• Oversee catering operations including inventories, budgets, and action plans.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and targets.
• Represent Gather & Gather and maintain a positive brand image.
• Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales.
• Coordinate between customers and teams to exceed expectations.
• Train and support teams from the front to enable excellence in roles.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards across teams.
• Manage up to 9 chefs.

Salary: £44,500 per annum

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 7:00-15:30, 40 hours per week

Location:CR7 7JA

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the kitchen during high-volume service, managing up to 300-500 covers depending on occupancy - this role serves as a central production unit cooking for four other centres.
• Preparing delicious food to the highest standards
• Supervising our culinary and catering teams to ensure we continue to deliver impeccable food and customer service
• Overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
• Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets
• Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
• Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales
• Liaising between customers and our culinary and service teams to ensure we continue to exceed expectations
• Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front to make sure everyone can excel in their role
• Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams.
• Managing up to 9 Chefs.
