Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is hiring a Chef Manager for a site in London (CR7 7JA). The role covers high-volume kitchen leadership, menu standards, and team development with a 40-hour week, Monday–Friday 7:00–15:30.

You will lead up to 9 chefs, oversee budgets and health & safety, and drive customer satisfaction across multiple production centres while representing the Gather & Gather brand.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen during high-volume service with 300–500 covers.
• Prepare delicious food to high standards.
• Supervise culinary and catering teams to deliver impeccable food and service.
• Oversee unit operations, inventories, budgets, and action plans.
• Monitor KPIs and targets with line manager.
• Represent Compass Group UK&I and maintain brand image.
• Identify opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales.
• Liaise between customers and teams to exceed expectations.
• Train and support teams; lead from the front.
• Implement and review Health & Safety standards across teams.
• Manage up to 9 Chefs.

Salary: £44,500 per annum

Shift Pattern: Monday-Friday, 7:00-15:30, 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen during high-volume service, managing up to 300-500 covers depending on occupancy - this role serves as a central production unit cooking for four other centres.
• Preparing delicious food to the highest standards
• Supervising our culinary and catering teams to ensure we continue to deliver impeccable food and customer service
• Overseeing the efficiency of all in-unit catering operations, including managing inventories, monitoring budgets, and implementing action plans
• Communicating regularly with your line manager to monitor KPIs and targets
• Representing Compass Group UK&I and maintaining a positive brand image
• Identifying opportunities for new food or service concepts to drive sales
• Liaising between customers and our culinary and service teams to ensure we continue to exceed expectations
• Supporting and training our teams, leading from the front to make sure everyone can excel in their role
• Implementing and reviewing Health & Safety standards to ensure compliance across all catering and service teams.
• Managing up to 9 Chefs.
