Job summary

Bowood Court Care Home is seeking a Chef Manager to lead the kitchen team, plan and cook nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet dietary needs and resident preferences. You will manage rotas, budgets, stock control and supplier relations while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.

You will also supervise and develop staff, monitor resident satisfaction, attend meetings, and ensure compliance with HACCP, COSHH, Health & Safety.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a busy kitchen, ideally for 25 covers or more in a care setting.
• Food Hygiene Certificate with knowledge of HACCP and safety legislation.
• Experience leading and developing a kitchen team.
• Knowledge of menu planning, nutrition and specialist dietary needs.
• Experience managing catering budgets, stock control and suppliers.
• Strong organisational and people management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Customer-focused, organised and passionate about dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead a kitchen team to plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents.
• Oversee rotas, budgets, stock control and supplier relationships.
• Monitor resident satisfaction and participate in meetings with residents/relatives.
• Ensure HACCP, COSHH, Health & Safety compliance and safe cleanliness.
• Maintain equipment, stock rotation and efficient ordering; work alternate weekends.
