Job summary

Berkeley-Scott is recruiting experienced Chef Managers for flexible agency work across schools and catering sites in Maidstone and surrounding areas. You will lead kitchen operations, manage teams and deliver nutritious meals while upholding hygiene and safety standards.

Competitive hourly pay of £18.00-£24.00, with assignments across various sites and ongoing recruitment support. Start date in September. DBS required and right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience as Chef Manager or similar kitchen role.
• Enhanced DBS certificate required.
• Right to work in the UK and full UK driving licence advantageous.

If you're an organised and motivated hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy flexible agency work while managing kitchen operations across a range of sites.

Key responsibilities:

• Managing the day-to-day running of busy kitchens
• Leading, motivating and supporting kitchen teams
• Planning and delivering high-quality, nutritious meals
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health & safety and allergen standards
• Managing stock, ordering and minimising waste
• Ensuring kitchens operate efficiently and meet client expectations

What we're looking for:

• A minimum of2 years' experienceas aChef Manageror in a similar kitchen management role
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Experience working within schools or contract catering is desirable
• Two satisfactory references
• An Enhanced DBS certificate
• The right to work in the UK
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be an advantage, but is not essential
