Job summary

Aramark UK is seeking a skilled Chef to join our Defence sector dining team at Queen Elizabeth Barracks, Strensall. You will cook for breakfast, lunch and dinner, delivering high-quality, fine-dining service for events while minimizing waste.

The role includes coaching junior staff and adhering to kitchen standards and safety protocols. The position is permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) with a 5-in-7 shift pattern, offering £13.05 per hour.

Qualifications

• Relevant culinary qualification (706/1 or 706/2 or equivalent)
• A confident chef and excellent team player
• Flexibility and ability to innovate
• UK residency for the past 3 years & ability to pass security vetting and DBS checks

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with minimal wastage
• Deliver fine dining for functions and hospitality events
• Support and coach new team members on kitchen standards and procedures
• Follow recipe cards and maintain food quality
• Assist with stock checks, food orders, and kitchen records
• Monitor temperatures and complete due diligence paperwork
• Help with daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans.
