Job summary

Middleton Lodge, home to The Coach House Restaurant, is seeking a Chef de Rang to join the team and manage a designated restaurant section. You will ensure the highest standards of service, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency in a fine-dining setting.

You will work alongside the Restaurant Manager and Operations Manager, delivering personalised hospitality, maintaining menu knowledge, and upholding health and safety standards. English proficiency is essential; wine knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or fine-dining environment.
• Experience managing a restaurant section or supervisory service role is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of English; additional languages are an advantage.
• Wine knowledge or relevant hospitality qualifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide attentive, personalised service throughout their dining experience.
• Present menus, explain dishes, recommend pairings, and answer guest enquiries.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and communicate allergies and dietary requirements to the kitchen.
• Serve courses according to service standards and presentation guidelines.
• Monitor guest satisfaction, anticipate needs, and resolve issues professionally.
• Coordinate service with kitchen, sommeliers, and management for smooth operation.
• Prepare the restaurant before service and complete closing duties afterward.
