The Westin London City is seeking a Chef de Partie on a flexible hours contract at its central London location. This role involves managing kitchen sections, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, and supporting other sections as needed. The position offers a flexible schedule and is not guaranteed weekly hours.

Ideal candidates will have prior Chef de Partie or commis level experience, strong team spirit, and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role, at Chef de Partie or commis level
• Ability to adhere to health & safety regulations and licensing rules
• Flexible and able to assist other kitchen sections
• Passion for food and willingness to learn
• Understanding of quality control and kitchen standards

Responsabilités

• Manage various sections of the kitchen and ensure standards are met
• Assist other kitchen sections in production and service as workload requires
• Adhere to health, hygiene, safety policies and licensing regulations
• Maintain clean and hygienic work areas and ensure food quality to head chef standards

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CHEF DE PARTIE AT THE WESTIN LONDON CITY

What you’ll be doing…

• Managing various sections of the kitchen and ensuring agreed standards are achieved
• To assist other sections of the kitchen in the production and service of food or the cleaning down of the section as and when required due to the workload
• Understanding and adhering to the company’s rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health & safety and licensing regulations.
• Ensuring a safe working environment identifying potential hazards and taking corrective action.
• Ensuring that all working areas of the kitchen, dry stores and refrigeration are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition at all times,
• Maintaining constant quality control of all food prepared and cooked, ensuring it is to the Head Chef’s and applicable kitchen standards.
• This role will require flexible working hours based on business needs and does not guarantee weekly working hours. It is not suitable for candidates who are looking for a permanent, full‑time role.

What We Need From You

We hire mostly on personality & potential but here are a few of our requirements…

• The ability to adhering to the company’s rules and regulations on policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health & safety, and licensing regulations
• The ability to manage various sections of the kitchen, whilst ensuring health & safety standards are met
• To be flexible in your approach, and able to assist the Sous Chef and any other members of the kitchen brigade when required
• A team player who thrives in the hustle and bustle of a busy kitchen department
• Someone who is passionate about food and willing to learn
• Previous experience in a similar role, at either Chef de Partie or commis level
• An understanding of quality control and kitchen standards
