Job summary

Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa is seeking a dedicated chef in a hotel kitchen, either as a Commis Chef or Chef De Partie. You will help ensure food is prepared and presented to the highest standard while supporting budgeted gross profit and upholding strict hygiene, SOPs and training initiatives.

Join a busy kitchen, maintain strong teamwork, and contribute to menu development and daily operations while upholding excellent cleanliness and efficiency across your section.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel kitchen as a Commis Chef or Chef De Partie.
• Able to follow standards and maintain good organisation.
• Capable of making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication with the kitchen and restaurant team.
• Active team player who supports colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all food prepared, presented and served to a high standard per specifications.
• Maintain section efficiency and high personal hygiene throughout kitchen operations.
• Ensure accurate ordering and stock rotation of fridges, freezers and storage.
• Assist in implementing and developing new menus with the Head Chef.
• Adhere to dress code and high personal hygiene standards.
• Comply with SOPs and report maintenance issues promptly.
• Contribute to budgetary controls to achieve gross profit, manage stock and wastage.
