Job summary

Avery Healthcare is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Chef de Partie on a Bank basis at the Wandsworth Common Care Home in London. You will support the Head Chef and Sous Chef to deliver nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals for residents.

You will participate in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments, handle dietary requirements, manage stock and help develop menus, while upholding Avery’s values of care, respect and accountability.

Qualifications

• Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
• Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
• Demonstrate compassion and commitment to residents.
• Be adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef and Sous Chef to lead a culinary team.
• Prepare nutritional food to a high standard, as directed.
• Contribute to cost-effective stock control to minimise waste.
• Develop and review the menu with the team.
