Lodestone House, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is recruiting an experienced Chef de Partie for Tonbridge School. You will lead a section, cook fresh meals to high standards, and support the wider kitchen team in delivering quality food and exceptional service.

You will work in a professional kitchen, focusing on food safety, menu development and training, with a comprehensive benefits package and a strong team culture at the heart of the operation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Run your section of the kitchen to a high standard.
• Prepare, cook and present fresh food to quality and portion specs.
• Ensure dishes meet recipes and food safety standards.
• Assist with menu development and new ideas.
• Train and develop Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
• Manage food storage and minimise waste.
• Assist with food ordering, deliveries and stock rotation.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe use of equipment.

CHEF DE PARTIE | TONBRIDGE SCHOOL | £32,635

40 hours per week | 52 weeks per year | 5 days out of 7

Lodestone House, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, are now recruiting for an experienced Chef de Partie to join our catering team at Tonbridge School.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team at one of the UK's leading independent schools, working alongside experienced chefs to deliver high-quality food and exceptional service to pupils, staff and guests.

We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef de Partie who takes pride in using fresh ingredients, has excellent culinary skills and enjoys working as part of a professional kitchen team.

You will play an important role in delivering a high-quality food offer, taking responsibility for your section while supporting the wider kitchen team to maintain consistently high standards.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Running your section of the kitchen to a consistently high standard
• Preparing, cooking and presenting fresh food to the required quality, presentation and portion specifications
• Ensuring all dishes are prepared and served in line with recipes and food safety standards
• Supporting the development of menus and new food ideas
• Assisting with the training and development of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants
• Ensuring food is stored correctly and working to minimise food waste
• Assisting with food ordering, deliveries and stock rotation
• Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness across the kitchen and surrounding areas
• Ensuring the correct and safe use of kitchen equipment and machinery
• Following all company and client Health & Safety, Food Safety and allergen procedures
• Working closely with the wider brigade to ensure smooth and efficient food service
• Supporting the team during busy service periods and maintaining high standards under pressure

WHO YOU ARE:

• An experienced Chef de Partie / CDP with a strong background in professional kitchens
• Passionate about fresh food, quality ingredients and excellent presentation
• A confident Chef with strong culinary skills and attention to detail
• Experienced in running a section within a busy kitchen environment
• Able to work effectively as part of a professional kitchen brigade
• Knowledgeable about Food Safety, HACCP, allergens and Health & Safety
• Organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure
• Passionate about developing your skills and keeping up with current food trends
• A positive team player with excellent communication skills
• Committed to delivering exceptional food and service
• Professional in appearance, attitude and approach
