Job summary

Lodestone House, part of Compass Group UK & Ireland, is seeking a talented Chef De Partie to join our catering team at a prestigious Independent School. You will be responsible for preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to high standards, using fresh ingredients to delight pupils and staff.

You''ll drive the food offer forward with an experienced team, benefiting from comprehensive rewards, training, and a 46-week contract with 5 days out of 7, plus the extensive perks and career development

Qualifications

• Passionate about cooking high-quality, fresh food.
• Strong Chef De Partie background with proven skills.
• Excellent culinary skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Enhanced DBS required and prioritised safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present dishes to high standards within your section.
• Comply with health & safety procedures and food information regulations.
• Lead and train commis chefs or kitchen assistants in your section.
• Manage portion sizes and reduce waste through proper storage.
• Assist with processing orders and receiving deliveries.
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchens and work areas.
• Ensure proper use of kitchen equipment and machinery.

We are looking for a talented and experienced Chef De Partie to join our catering team at our prestigious Independent School.

We are looking for someone that can help drive our food offer forward working alongside an experienced team of chefs. In return we offer support and development to grow within our business alongside a competitive salary.

What you'll be doing:

• Ensuring dishes are prepared, cooked and presented to the required standards and specifications within your section/speciality in accordance with food safety procedures
• Comply with all client and company health & safety procedures and standards at all times including adherence to food information regulations and food safety checks
• Run a section of the kitchen to the required standards
• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standards and portion specifications within your section/speciality
• Directing the tasks and training any commis chefs or kitchen assistants working in your section
• Ensuring food is recovered and stored correctly to minimise waste
• Assist with the processing of food orders
• Assist with the receipt and storage of deliveries
• Maintain the cleanliness of all kitchens and surrounding working areas
• Ensure the correct use of all machinery and equipment
• Perform other general tasks to support effective food service delivery as reasonably requested

Who you are:

• Passionate and aims to cook to the highest quality freshest food possible
• Strong and consistent Chef De Partie background
• Good motivator and able to work well within a team
• Have excellent culinary skills with great attention to detail
• A creative thinker with sound knowledge of the latest food trends and fashions
• Have sound knowledge of hygiene, health and safety requirements
• Self-motivated withthe ability to work in a pressurised environment
• Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and work well within a team
• Immaculate personal presentation, outgoing, passionate, excellent customer service and communication skills are required for this highly visible position
• Must be able to drive
• Enhanced DBS required - must be willing to wait a number of weeks for this to come through
