We are seeking a talented Chef de Partie to join our team at Shrewsbury School, one of the UK's most distinguished independent schools.Nestled in the heart of Shrewsbury, this historic institution is celebrated for its academic excellence, rich traditions, and vibrant student community. You will play a vital role in crafting outstanding dishes that fuel minds and inspire palates.
Location: Shrewsbury School, Kingsland House , Shrewsbury SY3 7BA
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7 days
Hours: 40 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £13.94 per hour
Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to the highest standard, using fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Collaborating with the Head Chef to develop innovative, balanced menus that cater to diverse dietary needs.
Maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes, ensuring a first-class dining experience.
Supervising and mentoring junior chefs, fostering a positive and high-performing kitchen environment.
Leading by example with impeccable culinary techniques and a passion for food.
Ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met at all times.
Assisting with stock management, ordering, and inventory control to optimise efficiency.
Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-equipped kitchen.
Experience as a Chef de Partie or similar role in a professional kitchen.
Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and menu planning.
Passion for high-quality food and creative presentation.
Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to maintaining hygiene, safety, and compliance standards.
