Watergate Bay Hotel's Living Space in Newquay is seeking a Chef de Partie to support daily kitchen operations, prepare and present seasonal dishes, and uphold top standards of cleanliness and safety.
You'll work a 40-hour week on a four-day schedule, with opportunities to learn from experienced chefs in a supportive, values-led environment on Cornwall’s coast.
A place to take your culinary career to new heights, Watergate Bay offers more than just a kitchen. Here, seasonal ingredients meet contemporary cooking in one extraordinary location.
At The Living Space, we produce generous, seasonal food inspired by Cornwall's incredible produce. From fresh pasta and vibrant salads to burgers, grills and sharing dishes, every plate is designed to bring people together after a day by the sea.
We're a service-based kitchen with one of the UK's most spectacular beach views on our doorstep.
Offering free on-site parking, a direct bus route from Newquay and a team minibus schedule making our hotel accessible for non-drivers.
You’ll support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the standards our guests return for. Working confidently through prep and service, you’ll take ownership of your section while helping deliver exceptional food with fresh, seasonal ingredients.
You’ll also maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation, supporting stock control and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly throughout each shift.
Whether you’re an experienced Chef de Partie or ready to step up, you’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced chefs, develop your skills and grow your career within a supportive, values-led business.
This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour week.
We’re here to share the joy of Watergate Bay for everyone, now and for the future.
Through proper hospitality, active relaxation and thoughtful experiences, we create the time and space for guests and teams to feel their best. Everything we do is rooted in warmth, confidence and care, with sustainability and community at our heart.
From hands‑on training to time spent by the sea, we’re committed to helping you grow, refine your craft and thrive in the kitchen.
