About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Chef de Partie to join the culinary team at Harbour Rocks Hotel, part of EVT’s Independent Collection in Sydney.

Working across Tayim Restaurant, Harrington Street Deli, and Eric’s Bar, this hands-on role is perfect for a chef who’s passionate about bold flavours, fresh produce, and creating memorable guest experiences.

Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of quality, presentation, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support daily food preparation and service across all venues, maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards
  • Assist in managing kitchen sections during service, ensuring quality and consistency
  • Work closely with the Head Chef on menu execution and seasonal updates
  • Help maintain efficient stock control and minimisation of waste
  • Contribute to a positive team culture by supporting junior staff and encouraging collaboration
  • Be proactive, organised, and take pride in every plate that leaves the pass

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef ready to take the next step
  • A genuine passion for food, attention to detail, and pride in presentation
  • A collaborative team player with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, especially during busy service periods
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen operations
  • Relevant commercial cookery qualifications (Cert III or equivalent)
  • Availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • You may be required to hold or obtain a valid RSA and First Aid certificate depending on hotel needs
