Job summary

The Devonshire Group is seeking a daytime Chef for Bakewell's Farm Shop Cafe to join our kitchen team and produce high-quality, seasonal dishes using local produce. This permanent role offers a 32-hour minimum week across four daytime shifts and a supportive, collaborative working environment.

You'll maintain rigorous food safety and HACCP standards, manage your section during busy service, and have opportunities for development across the farm shop and wider Group.

Working alongside our Head Chef and experienced kitchen team, you’ll help deliver fresh, seasonal dishes to the high standards our customers expect while contributing to a welcoming and supportive working environment.

What you’ll be doing:

- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food to agreed standards

- Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and HACCP practices

- Managing your section effectively during busy service periods

- Assisting with stock control, deliveries and other tasks as required

- Working with seasonal ingredients sourced from trusted local suppliers

About you:

You must be a confident communicator with a customer-first approach with experience of working with a team in a large scale, fast paced hospitality environment along with knowledge and application of all relevant food safety legislation.

What we offer:

- A permanent role of a minimum 32 hours per week across four daytime shifts (to include 1 weekend day, Saturday)

- Rate of pay of £14.28 per hour (plus tips)

- Daytime working hours, typically between 8am and 5.30pm
