Job summary

Priory Group is seeking a Chef for Wigginton Cottage in Tamworth, Staffordshire. The position is permanent and full-time, offering £13.45 per hour for a 40-hour week. The service supports 8 adults with diverse needs in a residential setting.

You will lead a high-quality catering service, plan and prepare meals that meet dietary, cultural and religious requirements, while managing budgets and supervising staff to ensure safety and quality.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience in large professional kitchen environments.
• Experience in care environment would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, cook and serve a variety of meals, ensuring dietary, nutritional, cultural and religious requirements are met.
• Develop creative menus that promote healthy eating, choice and variety, adapting meals to changing needs.
• Lead, supervise and motivate the catering team, maintaining high standards of food preparation, kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
• Manage catering budgets, stock ordering and rotation, ensuring value for money, ingredient quality and minimal food waste.
• Ensure all catering activities comply with company policies, food safety standards and relevant legislation.
