Job description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Cook with a solid background in culinary preparation and kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in cooking a variety of dishes and a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. A genuine love for baking is highly desirable, as the role will involve preparing baked goods alongside daily meal preparation. Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are key to success in this role. You will be required to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve fresh, nutritious home-cooked meals for up to 66 residents, ensuring individual dietary requirements, preferences, and nutritional needs are met.
  • Produce a variety of homemade baked goods, desserts, and snacks to enhance residents' dining experience.
  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals according to the menu and customer preferences.
  • Ensure all food safety guidelines are adhered to, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
  • Oversee kitchen staff during meal preparation, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage inventory levels, ensuring that all ingredients are fresh and properly stored.
  • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain an organised kitchen workspace, including proper storage of utensils and equipment.
  • Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
  • Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or catering environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
  • Excellent cooking skills with the ability to create diverse dishes across various cuisines.
  • Experience in managing kitchen operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong time management skills.
  • A passion for culinary arts and a desire to continuously improve cooking techniques.
