Job summary

BaxterStorey is seeking a Chef to lead breakfast and lunch service at the college, Monday to Friday, delivering high‑quality dishes in a busy kitchen. The role requires attention to food safety, teamwork and a positive approach.

Hours are 7am–3pm, 40 hours per week. Salary is £30,178 (pro rata 42 weeks plus 5.6 weeks holiday). Benefits include a free meal on shift, bespoke training, Perkbox discounts, and access to wellbeing and employee assistance programmes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in a Chef role.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to the recipes and standards set by BaxterStorey, ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
• Quality Control – maintain high quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste is considered at all times.
• Team Collaboration – communicate effectively with all other team members and assist/support all colleagues where necessary.
• Menu Development – collaborate with Regional Head Chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation.
• Cleaning and Maintenance – maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen including your designated area ensuring equipment is in good working order.
