Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate Bank Chef to join our care home team. This part-time role focuses on fresh, seasonal dishes, balanced menus and a warm, welcoming kitchen for our residents.

You will support the Head Chef in managing the kitchen when needed, work within budgets, and help deliver high standards of hospitality across our services while promoting quality and life enrichment for residents.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
• Prepare high quality, wholesome dishes from fresh produce
• Create a warm, efficient and welcoming kitchen and dining area
• Work within budget and stock control
• Complete regular audits and manage stock levels
• Assist in leading and motivating a team

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE

• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
• Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
