Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a passionate Bank Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual, part-time basis. You will help deliver fresh seasonal dishes to residents, support the Head Chef, and lead by example in a warm, welcoming environment.

You'll work flexible shifts with rota patterns that balance work and life, and you will ensure menus are nutritious, well balanced and aligned with budgets and HACCP standards. Join us to be part of a company that values quality and resident wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Personable, warm approach with genuine interest in residents’ wellbeing.
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ (or equivalent).
• Experience in leading and inspiring a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition.
• Experience cooking with fresh seasonal produce.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming environment.
• Strong HACCP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high quality, wholesome dishes.
• Create a warm, efficient, and fun kitchen environment.
• Work within budget.

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them.
