Job summary

Barchester Healthcare in Wimbledon is seeking a passionate Bank Chef for a part-time, flexible role in our kitchen. You will support the Head Chef, plan and prepare nutritious dishes using fresh seasonal produce, and tailor menus around residents to deliver high-quality meals.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach with residents' wellbeing in mind
• Experience leading and inspiring a team
• Good understanding of nutrition in menu planning
• Experience cooking with fresh seasonal produce
• Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent (or recognised equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
• Prepare high-quality dishes using fresh seasonal ingredients
• Create nutritious menus tailored for residents
• Help maintain a warm, efficient and fun kitchen environment
• Work within budget and controls
• Complete regular audits of stock, waste and portion control
• Lead and motivate the kitchen team in Head Chef's absence

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE
