Job summary

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a qualified chef for a casual, part-time Bank Chef role across Lancashire homes. You will work with fresh seasonal food, enjoy better work life balance, and support the Head Chef in delivering hospital-standard menus tailored to residents.

You will lead with warmth, help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, work within budget, conduct audits, manage stock, and inspire a team to maintain high quality, nutrition-focused meals.

Qualifications

• Personable and warm approach focused on residents' wellbeing.
• Proven City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification.
• Experience leading and inspiring a team.
• Good understanding of nutrition and healthy menus.
• Experience cooking with fresh seasonal produce.
• Ability to create a welcoming, homely environment.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP standards.

Responsibilities

• Help manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence.
• Prepare high-quality dishes using fresh produce while maintaining standards.
• Create a warm, efficient, and enjoyable kitchen environment.

Job description

Are you a qualified chef looking to work with fresh seasonal food, with the opportunity to have more of a work life balance and make what you do matter?

This is a casual, part-time role offering flexible working. Working as a Bank Chef at Barchester, you will have the chance to deliver hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well balanced menus whilst working with residents to tailor menus around them. NEED TO HAVE
