Job summary

Mitchells & Butlers plc is offering a Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship in a full-time kitchen role in the Newbury area. You will train on the job, with a structured program over 15 months, learning to prepare, cook and present food to brand standards while working under experienced chefs.

No prior kitchen experience is required; you’ll gain a nationally recognised qualification, mentorship, and ongoing support as you progress toward head chef opportunities.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Passion for cooking and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate openly with the team to deliver outstanding food and service.
• Attend team meetings and share insights.
• Prepare, cook and present food quickly and safely to brand standards.
• Handle guest queries and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Keep kitchen and back-of-house areas clean and well-organized.
• Set up and close down the department, including stock rotation and prep.
• Stay updated on promotions and new products.
• Complete training modules and adhere to brand standards and policies.
• Complete documentation and daily/weekly cleaning tasks.
