Job summary

Westgate Healthcare is seeking a compassionate Chef to join our family. This bank position provides flexible reception cover during annual leave and other absences, while you prepare hot and cold meals for residents in line with their needs and preferences.

You will assist with seasonal menus planning and ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining cleanliness and reporting any incidents to the home leadership.

Qualifications

• Right to live and work in the UK.
• Previous experience in a similar role and setting (care home or school).
• Certificate Level II in Food Safety and Hygiene required.
• Knowledge of nutritional needs of older people.

Responsibilities

• Prepare hot and cold meals for residents according to needs and preferences.
• Assist with planning seasonal menus.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policy and regulatory requirements.
• Carry out kitchen checks (e.g., fridge temperatures) to ensure compliance.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including washing and clearing equipment.
• Report accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge.

We are looking for a compassionate and caring Chef to join our family.

About the role

• Shifts from 7.30am - 3.30am
• This is a bank position, providing flexible reception cover during periods of annual leave, sickness and other staff absences, helping to ensure the reception service remains Fully supported
• prepare hot and cold meals for residents according to their needs and preferences
• Assist with planning seasonal menus
• Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Policy and regulations
• Carry out checks in the kitchen as required to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, for example recording fridge temperatures
• Maintain a clean and hygienic environment, including washing and clearing up equipment
• Report all accidents and incidents to the Person-in-Charge of the home
