Job summary

Westgate Healthcare is seeking an Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our family. You will identify residents' activity needs, plan a varied programme, and organise group events, outings and newsletters, while managing budgets and safeguarding residents.

Hours are 25 per week with flexibility for alternate weekends. You will take photos for newsletters and social media, promote wellbeing, and contribute to an supportive, compassionate home.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Understanding of emotional, social, physical, psychological and intellectual needs of vulnerable people.
  • Ability to engage others in recreational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify residents' activity needs and wishes through discussion, assessment and observation, and produce a varied programme based on these findings.
  • Explore methods and resources for meeting activity needs, including group events and individual sessions, involving internal and external sources.
  • Organise theme and fund-raising events based on local holidays and traditions.
  • Organise outings with safety and staffing considerations.
  • Manage monthly activity budgets for entertainment, materials and outings.
  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out on activities and outings.
  • Produce newsletters per company procedures.
  • Take photos of residents and update social media daily.

Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator

We are looking for a compassionate and caring Activities and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our family. We are looking for individuals who share our values, have an interest in helping others, a can-do attitude and who will treat the people we support with care, compassion and respect.

About the role
  • Hours: 25 hours per week.

  • Shift pattern to be discussed at interview, must be flexible to work alternate weekends

  • Identify residents' activity needs and wishes through discussion, assessment and observation, and produce a varied programme based on these findings

  • Explore the most appropriate methods and resources for meeting activity needs, including group eventsandindividual sessions, involving internal and external sources and involving community-based resources

  • Organise theme and fund-raising events as required, based on local holidays, traditions, etc

  • Organise outings as appropriate, giving consideration to safety needs and staffing requirements

  • Manage monthly activity budgets for entertainment, materials and outings in accordance with Company procedures

  • Ensure risk assessments have been carried out on all activities and outings

  • Produce newsletters in accordance with the company newsletter procedure

  • Take photos of our residents around the home, create engaging content and update our social media pages on a daily basis
