Sodexo is seeking a Chef at Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital to lead a section of the kitchen and deliver high-standard meals that support patient wellbeing. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency while collaborating with the wider hospitality team.

You will manage your duties with a focus on quality ingredients, food safety, and continuous improvement, contributing to a positive dining experience for patients and staff alike.

• Proven experience as a Chef
• Strong culinary skills and passion for fresh cooking
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergens and labelling
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, works well under pressure

Mansioni

• Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals for patients, staff and hospitality services, with variety and presentation
• Support Head Chef and kitchen team, deputising as needed
• Ensure food safety standards (HACCP, COSHH, hygiene) are met
• Manage stock, ordering, portioning and waste within budget
• Complete kitchen checks, records and audits
• Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver excellent patient and guest experiences

• £13.00 per hour + Sodexo benefits
• 37.5 Hours per week
• Shift Pattern: 5 days out of 7, alternating weekends
• Shift Times: 7 am - 3 pm OR 11 am - 7 pm | Saturday: 7 am - 7 pm Sunday 7 am - 2 pm
• Free meal on shift / Uniform provided
• Permanent contract

As a Chef at Sodexo in Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells site, you'll play a vital role in preparing high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the overall dining experience. You'll be responsible for managing your own section of the kitchen, ensuring every dish meets our high standards. What you'll do:

• Prepare and cook fresh, high-quality meals for patients, staff and hospitality services, ensuring variety, nutrition and excellent presentation.
• Support Head Chef and the kitchen team to deliver a consistently high standard of food and service, including deputising for management when required.
• Ensure all food preparation, cooking, storage and service meets food safety, hygiene, HACCP, COSHH and hospital standards.
• Manage stock, ordering, portion control and food wastage effectively, helping to maintain excellent quality within agreed budgets.
• Complete required kitchen checks, records and documentation, supporting successful EHO, Safeguard and internal audits.
• Work closely with the wider hospitality and front-of-house teams, responding positively to customer feedback and helping to deliver an excellent patient and guest experience.

What you bring:

• Proven experience as a Chef
• Strong culinary skills and a passion for fresh cooking, quality ingredients and creating varied menus.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergens, special diets and food labelling, with an Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification; Level 3 is desirable.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Good communication skills and the confidence to work professionally with patients, staff, colleagues, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• A positive, flexible and inclusive approach, with a commitment to high standards, teamwork, hospitality and continuous improvement.
